‘Love your neighbour as yourself’

Matthew 22:39

‘We always treat others with love and kindness following the teachings of the Parable of the Good Samaritan.’

Our Christian vision at Harnham Junior School is underpinned by Jesus’ Parable of The Good Samaritan alongside the quote from Matthew 22:39 ‘Love your neighbour as yourself’

In the Parable of the Good Samaritan, Jesus taught the importance of understanding how we can be good neighbours to each other and how we can live out our beliefs. At Harnham Junior School we want all our pupils to be given the opportunity to build their spiritual journeys based on a firm understanding of treating others in the same way we would want to be treated. We want all our children to flourish in an inclusive community where everyone respects each other and celebrates equity, justice, diversity with a deep sense of belonging.

Everyone at Harnham Junior School should, through positive actions, treat each other with love, kindness and actively encourage each other to ‘Aspire to Succeed’ in all we do, thus building a safe, vibrant, and loving community based on strong Christian values. Our children leave Harnham Junior School not just having achieved well academically, but being outward facing, compassionate and always showing unconditional love for their neighbour.

Welcome to Harnham C of E Junior School

Aspire to Succeed

On behalf of everyone here, a very warm welcome to Harnham Junior School

This website gives visitors an outline of our school, but it cannot give you a complete picture of school life. It will, I hope, be a useful and informative introduction. Please get in touch with us if you would like to know more, a tour of the school will show you so much more – the children are our best advertisement, we are proud of them, ‘well rounded and mature young people,’ according to Ofsted, whose comments, along with those from our own self evaluation and the Diocesan Inspection (SIAMS), can be found here.
